Governance Review

The Client:
A prestigious and long-standing national collecting institution.

The Project:‍ ‍
The client had undergone rapid growth and needed a consistent approach to the management and governance of its tendering projects. We were engaged to assist the organisation to research and evaluate their structure in order to improve tendering and bid management in the government sector.

The Approach:‍ ‍‍

As part of this project, we:

  • Reviewed governance documents and background materials;

  • Interviewed key stakeholders and governance staff to understand current strengths, issues, and opportunities;

  • Researched governance better practice, relevant standards, and key government requirements;

  • Worked with the Project Sponsor to confirm priorities and measures of success;

  • Developed a Governance Framework tailored to the organisation’s size and context;

  • Reviewed committees and forums, including their terms of reference, membership, and meeting cadence;

  • Developed a committee hierarchy and Corporate Governance Calendar to support oversight and decision making; and

  • Prepared a summary report and Forward Program of Work to guide implementation and future uplift.

The Outcome:

The Governance Framework and Corporate Governance Calendar improved visibility of governance arrangements, clarified roles and responsibilities, and supported better decision making across the organisation.

The summary report and Forward Program of Work gave the client a practical roadmap for strengthening governance over time. Following the engagement, the client was better placed to support compliance, improve governance capability, and align governance arrangements with strategic goals.
